TITLE: Corporate Sponsors: Bringing Businesses and nonprofits together
  CITY: Phoenix
  DATE: Thursday September 24th, 2009
  Time: 10:00am-11:15am

Corporate sponsorship is an untapped resource that many nonprofit organizations shun because it is too different. True, it requires a different set of skills from traditional fundraising, but it also comes with far fewer administrative complications. By opening the door to business partnerships and corporate sponsors, not-for-profit organizations make themselves into powerful marketing entities. This session will show you the way into the corporate world, help you convince a business that you are a worthwhile partner, and ensure that both sides of the partnership come out on top. This session will cover the following topics:

1.   Corporate Sponsorship in Brief: Why do companies invest in nonprofits?
2.   What About Us: Is your organization ready to be sponsored? Is the culture within your organization open for partnership?
3.   The Proposal: What makes a sponsorship proposal different, and can you establish a good fit?
4.   Gathering Interest: How to inspire sponsors to want to empower your nonprofit
5.   Sealing the Deal: What steps lead up to a signed contract?
