With modern technology giving us the potential to reach a much wider audience, almost instantly, it’s easy to see why so many institutions are turning to the Internet for new fundraising options. Online resources are often much more affordable than physical ones and you can often reach donors and other supporters who would otherwise never know of your organization. Volunteers, and membership will soar with the help of a properly managed website. There is a great deal more to know about online fundraising than a “Please Donate” button, and after this session you’ll wonder why you let it all go to waste. We will discuss:
   
1.   Promotion: Let people know you are here and show off your organization. Discuss more economical enewsletters and email campaigns.
2.   Prospect Research: The Internet is a trove of information. Use it to build complete profiles on all of your prospective supporters.
3.   Online R & D: Use the Internet to recruit new members and encourage new donors to give you a look. Entice your current members to renew their pledge in the most affordable and convenient possible ways.
4.   Volunteer Organization: Using the World Wide Web to mobilize you volunteers for meetings, events, fundraising campaigns, and other general relationship building.
5.   Donor Management: an introduction to systems that can locate, contact and communicate with record numbers of established and potential donors.

Prior to joining Convio, Blake served in both consulting and product management roles at IBM's eBusiness Unit, Netscape, Sun Microsystems, and America Online. Before entering the technology sector, Blake was a partner in a full service advertising, marketing, and public relations firm. 

He has a B.S. in Marketing from Texas A&M, and an M.B.A. from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird)
